Internship at the Braden Auditorium

My name is Michaela Hagen and this last semester, I interned at the Braden Auditorium here at Illinois State University in the Bone Student Center. I worked directly with the events coordinator (Jen Booher) of the establishment and she showed me the ropes. Some of my duties consisted of filing data, working with and supervising other employees, seeing how the front of house is run, and putting on small and large events. My favorite part of this experience has been seeing how Jen is able to put on concerts and other events so smoothly. I hope to take all the information and lessons that I learned from this internship and apply it to my future career.

Music Business Internship

Hello! My name is Matt Fagerland, and I interned with a couple different places. My first internship was with Castle Theater in Normal back in 2018, and my second was with Joyce Meyer Ministries in St. Louis, MO. Both internships gave me great and vastly different experiences. At the Castle Theater, my duties consisted of helping move and set up the bands' equipment. But in between shows, Jay Lowers taught the interns about all different aspects of the music industry, such as different kinds of venues and contracts. On occasion I would also go shopping for the bands rider and set it up for them in the green room. Then you get to watch a free show! It was so great because I got to experience a lot of different kinds of music that I normally wouldn't listen to, and even found some bands that I still listen to to this day! It was a fantastic place to work and I would absolutely recommend interning here! My next internship was a few years later. I had some personal stuff happen in...

Internship

Hi, my name is Ethan and I interned with Vale Church in Bloomington, IL. My duties consisted of tasks such as preparing audio for weekend services (tracks, front of house, and broadcast), helping come up with ways to make the band sound better, and event planning/production for larger services like Easter. I started serving at Vale for about a year before I began my internship with them. They already had an intern who was also in the music business track at ISU, so it really wasn't that difficult to also get an internship there, I was actually approached about it before I even asked. Truthfully, it is one of the best experiences I have had because everyone who I work with is great, all of whom I would consider friends, and I am learning a lot that will apply towards my future jobs (which will also be in ministry).
