Civic Arts Intern for Uptown Normal
Hi all! My name is Shelby Goodman and I am in the process of completing my Music Business Practicum with the Civic Arts Department of Uptown Normal. Working alongside my supervisor, Adam Fox and fellow intern Matt Trujillo, I have helped create, plan, and implement two very exciting local summer events. Throughout the course of the semester, I have worked on both LoungeAbout the RoundAbout Series and Make Music Normal. LoungeAbout the RoundAbout is a artist feature series that takes place in the Uptown Circle every Wednesday and Saturday beginning in May and ending September 1st. Each artist or band booked performs for two hours and is compensated by the Town for there services. I was in charge of the booking, negotiation, and contract writing for each of these artists. I tried to represent our local music scene to the fullest by including a wide variety of genres and types of artists.
