More Radio Disney

So I have been working at Radio Disney for over a month now and I have learned a lot of random things. I have learned a lot about how a radio station works and just as much about Disney and its parners. I have learned what we can and cannot do with certain companies and it is really interesting to me as well as what companies we can work with, but only if no one knows it is Disney related. For example,we cannot do any thing with food so, for liability reasons. So I wear a gogurt shirt every Wed. at kiddieland to sample gogurt as well as jewel cupcakes. I also enjoy knowing about which other companies that we can work with but only in specific situations and are otherwise competetors. I also love to hear about the difference between a Disney entity vs a Disney property and the restrictions and benifits that come along with that difference when working with said friend/competetor companies. I cannot explain what else I have learned in anyway but as experience. I know I have learned a lot but at the same time if you ask me what I learned all I can say is "a lot". I did some data entry for a while to help them out and I learned a lot during this time too. Not throught the actual data entry but just from being in the office and hearing what goes on. Its hilarous how dirty their mouths are and awesome how quickly they can turn that off. It makes the job that much more entertaining. Working in a cubicle you can hear pretty much everyhting in the whole room. Therfore it is hilarious when you hear someone talking in the office during a stressful situation and then hear the "happy face" being put on when they get on the phone. Oh the joys of being a business. This was in a way a learnign experince on how to talk to people and deal with them in any situation. I also learned more random helpful tidbits of info from helping people in the office when I was done with my data entry or waiting for a computer ( we were doing some updating at the time). Overall I definately know how awesome and awesomely stressful it can be working for Radio Disney. i would not mind having a full-time job here because I love all the people working there as well as the good and bad other "stuff" that would be in any entertainment job. Now have new higher goals to acieve. We will see but I am pretty sure I am not giving up anytime soon. In fact my plans have just started.

Lisa, it sounds like you have learned a lot about politics and what it's like to work in the real world! I totally understand what you're saying when you can't completely enumerate everything you've learned - and you're right, it will come out in so many different ways in your future. I'm very happy for you, it sounds like you had a very intense experience and one that can be applied to many different places in the future! Congratulations and thank you for sharing your experiences!
